19-20 April 2012: COMBATING RACISM, INTOLERANCE AND DISCRIMINATION IN SOCIETY THROUGH SPORT

The Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) invites to a meeting in the Hofburg, Vienna. Three panels and three side-event workshops will discuss the question, how to combat racism and discrimination in and through Sport.

The Vienna Institute for Internationale Dialogue and Co-operation (VIDC) will also participate in the conference. On Thursday, 19th April from 13:30 to 15:00 a side event will be held by FairPlay together with the Slovakian partner People against Racism (L'UDIA).

Football for Equality - Tackling racism, nationalism and homophobia in Central and Eastern Europe.

Since 2009 FairPlay is coordinating the Football for Equalty Project which now in a second phase focusses on Central and Eastern Europe, not least because of the upcoming EURO in Poland and the Ukraine and the Lesbian and Gay Champsionship EuroGames, which first time ever will be hosted in a new EU-memberstate (Budapest, Hungary).


FairPlay is also very active in the Balkan region together with the project partner B.A.A.P. (Balkan Alpe Adria Project).


The event during the OSCE.conference aims to present the initial results of the programme and share experience an knowledge on pratical work.
